COASTER MODEL HXC266

Family roller coaster (HXC266)

The HXC266 is the coaster a regional park buys when it is ready for a real headline ride. 266 m of track, a 9.3 m lift and 35.9 km/h — fast enough to thrill, mild enough that parents ride it with their children, and maintainable by a two-person engineering team.

  • 266 m of track, 9.3 m rail height and 35.9 km/h maximum speed
  • 16 riders per train (4 cars × 4 seats) and 192 riders per hour
  • 50 kW installed power on a standard 380 V supply
  • 90 × 40 m site envelope including station, queue and landscaping

Why a family coaster is the right first coaster

A family coaster is the only ride that gives a park a genuine track experience while remaining usable by almost every visitor. Unlike a looper, the HXC266 never inverts, its 9.3 m rail height keeps the structure below most planning thresholds, and its 35.9 km/h top speed produces sustained excitement rather than intimidation.

It is also the most efficient coaster to operate. The lift runs only during a cycle, so real energy consumption is far below the 50 kW installed figure, and the short 266 m circuit means the train returns to the station quickly — 192 riders per hour with a single train, with the option of a second train if demand grows.

Frequently asked questions

How long does the HXC266 take to build and install?

About five months in fabrication from drawing approval, six to ten weeks shipping, and four to six weeks on site including erection, alignment, test runs and commissioning. Plan for roughly nine months from deposit to opening.

How many riders per hour does a family coaster handle?

192 riders per hour with one four-car train and a 120-second cycle. A second train can raise this above 350 per hour if your station design includes a suitable block section.

What certifications come with the coaster?

Structural calculations to GB 8408 cross-checked against EN 13814 or ASTM F2291, material test certificates, weld inspection records, electrical compliance documentation, and a third-party ride inspection report — all supplied before shipment.

Can we theme the coaster?

Yes. Station buildings, tunnels, rockwork, lighting and audio are all optional packages. The track and train remain standard so maintenance and spare parts stay simple.

Who pours the foundations?

Your local civil contractor, using our foundation drawings and load cases. Keeping civil works local reduces cost and keeps liability in your market; we can also price the civil works with a partner contractor if you prefer a single contract.
