INDOOR PACKAGE

Family entertainment centre rides

Indoor rides are constrained by three things that outdoor parks never worry about: ceiling height, floor loading and noise. Every ride in this package is specified around those constraints, so your structural engineer and your landlord both get what they need.

The three constraints we design around

Ceiling height

Every ride's swept envelope is checked against your clear internal height, and swing or drop profiles are derated where necessary so the ride stays comfortable and legal.

Floor loading

We supply point load and dynamic load cases for your structural engineer, including the anchor positions and the concrete or slab thickness required.

Noise

Indoor units can be specified with low-noise drive packages and optional acoustic enclosures, which matters when the ride adjoins retail or food outlets.

Also needed for an indoor installation

  • Fire-rated cabling and compliance with your venue's fire strategy
  • Fenced swept area within the venue's evacuation plan
  • A single lockable isolator at the ride with a clear emergency stop chain
  • An operator station with unobstructed sight of the loading gate and the full ride
  • A maintenance access route for wheel, chain and restraint servicing
  • A daily inspection point with a documented checklist posted at the ride

Check whether a ride fits your venue

Send the floor plan, ceiling height and slab information. We will confirm which rides fit and what they need from the building.

  • Reply within one working day
  • Layout sketch and model recommendation included

Frequently asked questions

What is the smallest indoor ride you supply?

The 16-seat mini pirate ship at 6 × 4 m with about 7.5 m of clear height, and the 24-seat flying chair ride which needs a swept area of roughly 18 m in diameter but only about 7 m of headroom.

Can these rides go on an upper floor?

Yes, subject to slab loading verified by your structural engineer against our load cases. Dynamic loads from swinging or rotating rides are higher than static weight, and we supply both figures so the assessment is done properly.

How do we handle noise complaints from neighbouring tenants?

Specify the low-noise drive package and, where needed, an acoustic enclosure. We can also reduce rotation speed, which lowers both noise and structural load. Many of our indoor installations adjoin retail without issue.

What attendance do indoor rides need to pay back?

FEC rides are usually priced per play rather than by gate, so the calculation is cycles per day. A 16-seat ship at a 120-second cycle running ten hours generates well over 2,000 paid rides per day if demand supports it — size the ride to your footfall, not to the space.
